Who we are
Ocean-Sustain is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving the beauty of our oceans, beaches, and waterways. Founded by David Nelson, a passionate 14-year-old, our mission is to create a cleaner, healthier environment for marine life and the communities that rely on these vital ecosystems.
We aim to inspire local action by organizing volunteer-led beach cleanups, engaging the community in preserving our planet’s most precious resources. Through hands-on efforts and educational initiatives, we strive to protect marine life, prevent pollution, and ensure that our oceans remain vibrant and thriving for generations to come.

I’m a 14-year-old from Naples, Florida, and the founder of Ocean-Sustain. I’ve always been passionate about the ocean, from its incredible marine life to the beauty of its ecosystems. I’ve made it my mission to clean our beaches, protect wildlife, and raise awareness about the importance of caring for the environment. Through Ocean-Sustain, I’m working to inspire others to take action, promote eco-friendly habits, and help preserve the ocean for the long term. By making small changes today, I believe we can create a lasting positive impact on the health of our oceans.

Hi, I'm Lainey Nelson and I'm passionate about safeguarding our oceans and the amazing creatures that live in them. At 18, I’m committed to keeping our waters clean and supporting thriving reefs and marine life. I believe that by acting now, we can give the ocean the opportunity to remain healthy and vibrant.
